U.N.I. has provided a platform for bible studies in San Quentin’s reception center in April 2009.  Inmates were invited to join an open forum during yard to conduct bible studies.  During time in Administrative Separation, UNI provided Bible Readings to inmates in solitary confinement.  Bible reading were followed by discussions on salvation with question and answer sessions (Solitary confinement overwhelms some inmates who choose to take there own lives).

U.N.I. believes that salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, Whose precious blood was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of our sins (John 1:12; Ephesians 1:7; 2:8-10; I Peter 1:18-19) and that in order to be saved, sinners must be born again; that the new birth is a new creation in Christ Jesus; that is instantaneous and not a process.

The California prison system has an overwhelming gang problem.  These gangs use violence and scare tactics to promote racial ‘polities’.  These ‘politics' prevent fellowship with people outside of ones race.  Everyone is subject to these unwritten rules prohibiting normal relations society is based on today.  Any participation in 'prison politics' only adds to the problem.

UNI believes that all the saved should live in a manner that does not bring reproach upon their Savior and Lord; and that separation from all religious apostasy, all worldly and sinful pleasures, practices, and associations is commanded of God (Romans 12:1-2, 14:13, II Corinthians 6:14 -7:1; II Timothy 3:1-5; I John 2:15-17; II John 9-11).

U.N.I. has provided a platform for bible studies, scripture readings, and personnel testimonies while at South Soledad in Sept. 2009.  U.N.I. wrote proposals (currently in review by CDCR) to provide ‘Religious Tables’ for all inmates (regardless of race, colour, creed, religious and/or spiritual designation) to sit together during meal times in cafeteria.  Prison gangs practicing race ‘politics’ prevent inmates from sitting with others outside their race using violence and scare tactics.  Christians are called to practice their religious and spiritual rites by breaking down race barriers (ie leading by example) utilizing ‘Religious Tables’ (sitting freely with all races, colours, and creeds).

U.N.I. believes that man was created in the image and likeness of God, but that in Adam’s sin the human race fell, inherited a sinful nature and became alienated from God: and, that all men are sinners by birth and by choice, and, of themselves, utterly unable to remedy their lost condition (Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 3:22-23; 5:12; 6:23; Ephesians 2:1-3; 4:17-19).

The services provided by this organization lower the recidivism rate by changing the way of thinking through a power greater than ourselves – God.
